Been awhile!

Hi everyone!

I didn't realize how much time has passed since I last posted.  I have been slowing down on all my crafts this year due to health issues but am really missing  some of them.!

I finally finished another block for the Wish quilt by Red Brolly

I have a new  sewing machine that does the threading  for me so I can finally get back on the machine a little at a time.  I hope to complete some of my Un finished works this next year.  I have  a few things that still need to get caught up.

I have been doing a lot of cross stitching I think I got carried away buying kits though as I now have a dresser full of patterns, material and threads all ready to go.!

It is raining  heavy today I'm waiting to see if Hubby gets rained out from work. If so he will go the stores and get the groceries ect and the last of x-mas things.

My son Kyle and his girlfriend Ronakay are living here full time now so it's time to fix up his room and area for them to be more comfortable so over the x-mas holiday Hubby will be making wall cabinets for the room so it can be  organized better for them.   I have already packed down the closet for them only a couple of stored boxes on top shelf that will stay filled with kyles baby things.

Decided to wait on my kitchen floor until sometime next year so we could get the other room done first.

Here are some of the things I have been working on some might have been shown already if so I apologize!  Hope you all have a great Holiday Season  many Blessing from My house to Your House!

8.11.2014

Morning everyone!

It's nearly half way through August already  the months have just flown bye this year.  I realized today that I am running out of time to get a Christmas swap done and  some extra gifts made for this year..

I haven't gotten much done this  last few months I have been mostly doing cross stitch pictures and actually reading books again. It has been nice to just relax for a little bit.

We lost my Father In Law   at the very end of July he will be such a big miss in our lives He was 82 yrs but hadn't been in good health for a long time.  My Mother In Law is taking it not too bad but we worry about her being alone now.  It sure does put life in perspective when you see some one going through the loss of a long time companion I find myself saying what if quiet a lot.

Well onto  happier things.....

Hubby is back on day shift as of today!! Yeah  it  has been real hard this time round on nights  don't think he will be doing that again for a very very long time!!!

Everyone helped get the house back in order this weekend so all the housework is caught up bug spraying done and yard work done I can even see the top of the sewing desk now!  all the clutter is put away.
I have my patterns printed out and my to do list started so hopefully tomorrow I can start sewing again in the mornings. I still can't sit long at the machine but I thought if I can at least sit for  1 hour every morning I will eventually get something done!!

I'm still working on the Red Brolly Wish Quilt I need to get back to it as well. I have the Jenny of Elefantz Shabby Rose  quilt to finish.

think I will have to change the color of writing to make it stand out

Princess having a lazy morning !!

June 27 2014

Hi everyone!

It's been awhile since I have been writing I have been taking a step back from everything these past few months.  It has been nearly a year now since Grandma has been gone and I have really felt it  these last few months.  It's time now to shake myself up and get on with life. so my new promise to myself is to try and do something different each week  whether it is read a book ( have a lot on shelf waiting!)  or work on a different craft again but each week I will make myself get up and  actually DO something.

I have been working on cross stitch patterns lately and have completed a few. This is a new craft for me  and I think I have gone overboard on stocking up on kits!!  I sure won't fun out anytime soon!!!

We have had so much rain lately I'm surprised we have gotten anything done around here but My son and his girlfriend Ronakay  have managed to work some more on the  ponds in the front and also put in a large vegetable garden in the back yard. We started out with plants in pots but he decided he wanted to make a better garden so  they did!!  I don't think they realized what hard work it would be!!!LOL  now they know why we had pots!!

We saved a baby goose from the pen the other day the adults killed the others they had again this year but we found this one before they could stomp it . It is now in a kennel in the sitting room until it gets bigger hopefully Kyle will get it a home like he promised or we will be back to four geese to care for. Ronakay named it Aflac  so it will probably end up being a family member!! Maybe it will get along with the chickens instead of the geese pen!!  We used to have two duck that thought they were chickens so I suppose the goose will do the same!

We have been looking into getting new a/c and heat system later this year and a roof next year  I think it will take a bit of saving to get it done but hopefully it will  get done  before June of next year!!  We have decided to go with a new system that is ventless so we can close off all the floor vents in the house and seal them up. Ever since we had Mr snake come visit I have been paranoid about the vents in case something comes in through them!!  We saw these systems on the D.I.Y shows where they re model peoples homes the comments from others that have them seem to be good so here's hoping.  The roof is a perma roof  and is meant to have a lifetime warranty after it is installed.  Hopefully we are doing the right thing upgrading what we already have instead of getting a new note for a new house to be built.  We got kind of nervous about building when there is only maybe 15 or so more years until Hubby can retire the list of what ifs scared us so repair and upgrade is the new motto for now!!

Well not much else now so I had better go now that I have bored you all!!  July is just around the corner need to get going and start on x-mas gifts!!   Can you believe it's that time already?  This year has flown.

It's COLD here today!! at least for us it seems cold I wouldn't want the snow some of you are getting!! My snow shoveling days are over!!

I am planning on a quite and slow year this year craft wise.( note I said planning!)  I have started making cross stitch  pictures  and doing some embroidery again.  I have  few projects lined up  I decided that I wanted to work on things that I have been wanting to do but have been saving for later I guess it seems like later has gotten here at last!

4. Dear Jane

5. Shabby Roses Home by Jenny of Elefantz

I hope to have most of these done by the end of the year but  we will see.!!

I have to limit my swapping this year if I want to get all this done  as you can tell most of these patterns are hand applique  or embroidery so I will be trying to finish watching all the star trek shows this year as well I have made it up to season 4 on star trek deep space nine then  I think voyager is the next show after I watch all of the other seasons of DS9  .
